^ Using Illustrator, I made this colouring picture for children. The picture was part of a concept for a website I designed for Drielandenpunt, a touristic attraction in the Netherlands. The colouring picture was made available through the website (see further down this page) as a printable pdf file.

^ Using the theme of "Alice in Wonderland", I created a pop-up book in which a visual representation of myself stepped into "the Wonderous land of the Academy for Visual Arts". Some background info: Geleen is an industrial town in the south of the Netherlands, also my birth town. The bordeaux coloured logo belongs to the Academy. The two spiralling circles were originally integrated in one page in the book. Through a form of papercraft the grey spiral transformed into the rainbow spiral.

^ Left image: part of a larger, two page illustration for the Alice in Wonderland pop-up book. Right image: a detail from a different part of the illustration. Although the book does not exist any longer, the pages were originally designed to be flipped over into a triangular shape with two holes enabling a view on the image hidden inside. The looking holes were covered with pieces of see through plastic. One looking hole was red, the other cyan. The cyan part would filter out the cyan colours of the image on the inside of the "peep show box" and render a view of the red outlines. The red part rendered a view of the cyan outlines. Thus two different images were viewable in one design.

^ Combine a school assignment with a personal fascination and you get this! The assignment: apply the theme of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde onto a famous person. My fascination: James Douglas Morrison, Mr Mojo Risin, the Lizardman, the boy with the fragile eggshell mind, all different expressions of the same essence known as Jim Morrison. His "evil" side is expressed through his interest in and dippings into the occult, his selfdestructive tendencies such as alcohol and drug abuse and his idolization of Alexander the Great. His "benevolent" side is expressed through his artistic talent and poetic works, his intellect and his charisma.

^ Pip & Polly is an interactive comic with an educational purpose. It was part of my graduation project. The project can be viewed here.

^ Design for a website for a touristic attraction. It was not taken into use, but the design files can be viewed here.

^ Design for a leaflet to promote myself: "artist searching stage".

^ My interpretation of the biblical story of the Garden of Eden. During this project I stumbled upon many ancient accounts of creation from throughout the world that were (much) older than the bible, like the sumerian and the mayan creation myths. Interesting stuff! Image 1 (left): human being created and receiving a piece of "god consciousness". Image 2 (right): consiousness settles into its new physical and earthly body made out of dna and molecular structures, with restricted access to light (colour) and waves (sound).

^ The Garden of Eden series continued. Image 3 (left): "Eve is created out of Adam". Ancient accounts tell of an alien race that came to earth and combined human dna with alien dna to build a hybrid slave race. The alien gods were not happy with their first hybrids since they rejected their role as slaves. Image 4 (right): So the alien gods tried again and this time tampered with dna to dumb down their new batch of hybrids and keep them docile. The connection to god consciousness was placed outside of "Adam and Eve", whereas they had direct access before their "fall".

^ The Garden of Eden series continued. Image 5 (left): "Adam and Eve" in a dumbed down state. They lost the connection to each other, the earth and universal (god) consciousness and they no longer remember their true identity. They enter the dark age. Image 6 (right): They reproduce a race of slaves that have forgotten their own divinity. The divine spark seems to have left the flesh, but it lingers on a distance.
